One of the Android platform's biggest strengths is its flexibility, with Google intentionally designing it to be as customisable as possible. This has made it so handset manufacturers can run it on a variety of different-sized devices.
For the past few years, hardware manufacturers have been taking advantage of this, releasing their flagship handsets in multiple sizes. Sadly, while looking similar to their larger siblings, most of the smaller devices, such as the Galaxy S4 Mini, have had woefully downgraded specifications.
At this year's CES Sony moved to change this when it unveiled its new Xperia Z1 Compact handset. Featuring close to identical specifications and the same design as Sony's flagship Xperia Z1, the Compact could be the best small form factor Android handset ever released.
