Apple has confirmed that its AirPods - wireless earbuds - will start shipping to UK customers on Monday.
Until today the wireless earbuds were listed on Apple's online shop as "coming soon", but the company has now revealed that they will be available from 19 December - albeit only in "limited quantities".
Apple's AirPods have also started shipping in the US, with the company promising delivery by 22 December.
The move comes just days after it was reported that the £159 AirPods were unlikely to ship in time for Christmas, with the Wall Street Journal having learned that Apple is still trying to patch up technical issues related to audio synchronisation.
"Apple must ensure that both earpieces receive audio at the same time to avoid distortion," said a person familiar with the matter, adding that the company is working to "resolve what happens when a user loses one of the earpieces or the battery dies."
The cable-free earbuds are the first to feature Apple's new proprietary W1 chip, which makes for almost instantaneous pairing with Apple devices and knows both when the AirPods are in your ear and when you start using a different Apple device.
Apple also claims this new chip offers greater range than rival products and a more reliable connection.
While some Beats headphones currently shipping offer these features, they lack the AirPods' Siri integration, which can be activated by tapping on them. They also don't come with Apple's fancy charging box, which provides an extra 24 hours of battery life.
Despite these features, though, Apple's AirPods' haven't had an easy ride until now and have been mocked for their toothbrush head-like appearance, high price tag and the likelihood that they will be easily lost down the back of the sofa/bus/drain.
