Apple has given Siri a thorough overhaul, making the virtual assistant smarter and more capable in its native state and now in apps. We have a round-up of the top five new Siri features revealed at WWDC 2016.
5. Siri on TV
Apple’s tvOS has had Siri functionality for some time, but it is being more tightly integrated into the Apple operating system for TV streaming.
This deeper integration means that Siri can be asked to search for films by genre and the decade they were made, as well as search for videos in third-party apps, such as the YouTube app on tvOS, using the similarly complex commands.
Siri can also be ordered to launch live streaming programmes and video immediately, rather than force users to navigate around a fussy menu screen.
