Microsoft had a relatively quiet week, not even having much to say at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Instead, the firm delivered new builds for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, the first time these have been updated simultaneously.
The company also announced an intention to acquire Xamarin, producers of cross-platform mobile development tools. This may have been one reason behind the firm's decision to can a promised toolkit that would have let developers port Android app code to run on Windows 10.
