A mix of stories dominated the headlines last week among the V3 audience, ranging from major hacks of questionable dating websites to more lofty, high-end enterprise IT announcements.
Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising story concerned a hack on the cheating website Ashley Madison. The firm was caught on the back foot when hackers hit the site and threatened to leak data. No doubt this was a worrying concern for some.
The firm claimed that anyone who had deleted their account was safe, contrary to the hackers’ claims, but did offer all members the option to delete their account free of charge to give people peace of mind.
Meanwhile in the more sedate world of storage, Dell unveiled plans for 3D Nand flash storage arrays that will cost no more than today's fastest 15K RPM hard drives, effectively rendering them redundant.
Finally, V3's round-up of the best budget smartphones in the market was also of interest, showing that, while millions of iPhones and Galaxy S6 devices fly off the shelves, cost is still an most important factor for many buyers.
