Sony has been going through something of a smartphone and tablet renaissance recently, releasing a constant stream of top-end devices that many, including us here at V3, judge to be their finest to date.
Such has been the almost frenzied pace of its releases that many fans of its tech have wondered whether, despite having released its current Xperia Z3 less than a year ago, Sony will unveil yet another flagship smartphone at MWC 2015.
The Xperia Z4
There are no official details regarding the fabled Xperia Z4. While some optimists may argue this is because, unlike Apple, Samsung, HTC and pretty much every other tech firm, Sony can keep a secret, for us it's a sign the company isn't going to release a flagship at MWC.
Instead it's more likely Sony will take a breath and give the Xperia Z3, which is a great smartphone, the time in the limelight it deserves.
A mid range or budget affair
While we're not convinced the Xperia Z4 will make an appearance at MWC, we're equally sure Sony will release at least one Xperia smartphone, probably targeting the affordable or mid-range price point.
A flagship tablet
Sony has a strong track record creating top-end, super-thin, water-resistant Android tablets. However, it's been a while since the firm refreshed its Xperia tablet range, with its latest flagship the Xperia Z2 Tablet having launched all the way back in May 2014.
As a result, we're thinking Sony may use MWC as the launch pad for a new flagship Android tablet, which should come running the latest Lollipop version.
