Apple is a great company; there's no doubt about that. Its products have changed the world and, as opening-weekend sales of 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 devices proves, it remains the darling of the tech world.
But despite Apple's halo of brilliance, it does not always get things right. In fact, over the past few years the firm has been hit by numerous embarrassing problems and issues, the likes of which it would like to pretend never happened.
So, in light of a recent flurry of events Apple would problably rather forget, V3 has put together a top 10 of some of the most inglorious moments in the company's otherwise illustrious history.
10. Unwanted U2 album for all
Apple's affection for much-loathed Irish 'rockers' U2 is no secret. Bono's face is the silhouette in the 'Artists' section of the app after all.
Because of this love-in, Apple seemingly thought it would be a great idea to give U2's latest album Songs of Innocence away free on iTunes. Not only that, it decided that the best way to do this was to force this onto users' iPhones and iPads.
As Apple should have realised before the stunt, this did not go down well with users, who were quick to run to Twitter to bemoan the "plague" that had arrived on their iDevice. One user scathed: "WARNING: DO NOT click on links offering free downloads of the new U2 album. They lead to free downloads of the new U2 album."
In order to win users over again, Apple launched a dedicated tool for deleting the album.
