EBay dominated the headlines last week but for reasons it definitely would not have hoped for, after a huge breach of its systems left millions of users needing to reset their passwords.
However, the firm hardly covered itself in glory in the way it handled the fallout, as it took an age to alert users via email to the breach and made it far harder than it should have been to change passwords. V3 readers, like many, were not impressed.
Sticking with the security arena, Microsoft also came in for criticism after it came to light that it had still not patched a zero-day exploit more than 180 days after it first learned of the flaw. It has since promised that a fix is on the way.
Microsoft was also busy last week unveiling its latest tablet, the Surface Pro 3, which earned it a lot of attention from V3 readers.
Finally, in one of the more quirky announcements to grace the pages of V3, US cloud giant Salesforce revealed it is to rebrand the Heron Tower in London as the Salesforce Tower as it aims to boost its presence in the UK.
