Sony took the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1 at IFA and we happened to be in town to get our mitts on the handset for a closer look.
Equipped with a massive 20.7MP camera, the Xperia Z1 is the sequel to the Sony Xperia Z, the firm's best-selling smartphone to date. Featuring the same 5in full HD 1080p display, it has a faster quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and the latest Google Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system.
The handset's standout feature, however, is its Exmor RS 20.7MP rear-facing camera, which Sony touts as the "world's best camera in a waterproof smartphone". This impressive-sized snapper works alongside Sony's snap-on lenses, the QX10 and the QX100, which were announced alongside the Xperia Z1.
The Sony Xperia Z1 will arrive in the UK in black, white and purple colour options later this month.
