Google’s augmented reality Glass service is not even available in the UK yet but the government is already taking its usual measured approach to technology, by announcing it is working to ban the device, without having ever probably seen it.
The story dominated the headlines last week and was of great interest to readers, with many commenting on the wisdom of the decision, after the Department for Transport confirmed it was working on the issue with police.
Elsewhere, news that crooks are abusing the Master Key security vulnerability in Android hit the headline, with reports of a Trojan being snuck on to smartphones and tablets using the exploit. The rise in cyber criminals was of concern to Nato too, which said that white hat tech gurus should be recruited by governments to help in the growing cyber war, in order to boost their defences.
In other popular news, rising sales of the iPhone 4 have helped boost Apple's fortunes, as first-time buyers enter the smartphone market, while our review of the latest Android 4.3 from Google was also popular with V3 readers.
