A YouTube video has been posted which claims to document the case design for Apple's much-anticipated iPhone refresh.
The video, posted under the account "Etrade Supply" documents the back casing for the handset as well as various ports for docks, connectors and audio and video hardware.
As with previous reports, the video claims that Apple is expanding the size of the screen from 3.5in to 4in. Analysts have long suggested that Apple would be making such a move to keep up with the larger-screen handsets offered by competing Android handsets.
Additionally, the video notes the metal design for the handset's back casing. A number of previous reports have described the company's plan to replace the plastic casing on the back of the iPhone with a 'liquid metal' alloy and brushed metal finish.
The video also noted smaller dock and SIM card ports as well as a bottom placement for the headphone jack.
According to multiple reports from industry analysts and suppliers, Apple is planning to unveil the next iPhone this Autumn. A recent analyst report claimed that the company was planning an event for September which would include the unveiling of not only a new iPhone, but a smaller-screened iPad tablet as well.
The so-called iPhone 5 has been one of the most anticipated releases of 2012, both in the press and among consumers. While speculation on the device's features and arrival has run rampant, analysts have found that consumers are so eager to see the new iPhone that sales of all handsets are being slowed as a result.
