UK demand for Samsung's Galaxy S3 has surpassed expectations, according to pre-order statistics from the Carphone Warehouse.
The Carphone Warehouse revealed that it has already received thousands of pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphone, making it 2012's most in-demand mobile device.
"Pre-order demand for the new Galaxy S3 has surpassed expectations since the handset was first unveiled two weeks ago. The first 24 hours alone saw thousands placing their pre-order at Carphone Warehouse," said Carphone Warehouse's chief commercial officer, Graham Stapleton.
"The Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the fastest selling pre-order of 2012 so far. We're gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day at the end of the month as the handset lands on shelves at our stores across the UK."
The news comes one week before the S3 is due to arrive in the UK. Samsung unveiled the S3 at the start of May at Earl's Court London.
Featuring a powerful 1.5GHz quad-core processor and running Google's latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Samsung claims the device is its best smartphone to date.
The device boasts a number of custom Samsung features, including S Beam near field communication sharing, S Voice spoken command features and Pop-up Play continuous video playback.
The S3 will arrive in the UK on 30 May retailing for £500 SIM-free, check back at V3 closer to the time for a full review. For now, you can find further details about the device at V3's hands-on preview.
