Barclays' PayTag is a physical near-field communication (NFC) add-on soon to be rolled out to all Barclaycard customers that attaches to users' handsets, letting them make payments up to £15 at contactless point-of-sale terminals in the UK.
The service is Barclaycard's latest crack at the mobile payment market, which it predicts will increase over the coming year, estimating the number of contactless point-of-sale terminals in the UK will double to 150,000 by the end of 2012.
