Easter egg hunts are a staple of childhood, as you gamely rush around the house or garden seeking out bountiful supplies of chocolate. As we get older we like to think we outgrow such activities, but the inclusion of ‘Easter Eggs' within software, games and DVD proves otherwise.
As such V3 has put together a list of some of the most interesting, innovative and amusing Easter Eggs out there, hopefully including some you don't know about, to bring you a little treat this Easter time.
Of course, this list only features 10 suggestions, and there are hundreds out there, so if you know of any more, whatever the medium, let us know in the comments box below.
10. Google's wacky search results
Those folks at Google are always busy cooking up interesting new developments, whether that's from fancy new products to fun doodles for their home page, but they've also got a few Easter Eggs hidden away within their services.
Its search engine is one with several wacky examples, such as typing the word ‘tilt' so that the results are displayed at an angle, while the word askew also produces similar results (see below).
Another interesting one is the word recursion, which refers to something repeating in an identical manner, which if you type into Google the search engine asks, "did you mean recursion", which is a pretty clever joke. Well, V3 thinks so anyway.
The best, though, is "Do a barrel roll" which will send the browser into a complete 360° before returning you to the standard home screen.
