HP's hotly anticipated Folio 13 ultrabook PC is now available in the UK, exclusively through Currys and PC World for the next three months.
Announced last year, the Folio 13 is HP's first ultrabook model aimed at professional users and features a 13.3in display, slimline 18mm chassis and weighs in at less than 1.5kg.
The system has been available in the US since December, but HP has teamed up with Currys and PC World to offer the Folio 13 exclusively to UK customers for three months, with the full model name of Folio 13-1000ea.
For a price of £899.99, the Folio comes equipped with an Intel Core i5-2467M dual-core processor, 4GB of memory and 128GB Flash SSD hard drive, plus built-in Altec Lansing speakers, USB 3.0, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet and HDMI video output.
Like other ultrabooks, the Folio 13 features Intel Rapid Start technology to boot up in just a few seconds, plus other features aimed at stemming the fall-off in PC sales as consumers opt for devices such as tablets instead.
"We are expecting the new category of ultrabooks, in particular the HP Folio 13-1000ea, to become one of our best-selling range of computing products," said Mark Slater, category director for computing at Currys and PC World.
