Lenovo is to debut nearly 20 new Idea products at CES in Las Vegas this week, including Android 4.0 tablet devices, big-screen all-in-one systems and new IdeaPad ultrabook models, the firm has revealed.
On the tablet front, the IdeaTab S2-10 is an Android 4.0 device with a 10in HD display, due to ship worldwide in the second quarter of 2012, although pricing has yet to be disclosed.
With a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 processor, the IdeaTab "takes tablets to the next level," according to Nick Reynolds, executive director of Lenovo's product group.
At 580g and 8.69mm thick, it is also one of the thinnest and lightest tablets available. It will ship with up to 64GB of SSD storage, WiFi and 3G connectivity options, plus front and rear cameras.
An optional keyboard dock lets users operate the IdeaTab like a laptop, with full keyboard and touchpad, but also adds a second battery that more than doubles the battery life to 20 hours, according to Reynolds.
Lenovo is also following up last year's IdeaPad U300s ultrabook with the U310 and U410 models, which will be available with either SSD drives or standard hard drives fitted.
These models are just 18mm thick and weigh 1.7kg, with fast boot and quick resume, eight-hour battery life, plus a feature called Lenovo Smart Update technology. This allows updates to email, IM and social media tools even when the laptop is in sleep mode, said Reynolds.
Lenovo also claimed it is making ultrabooks more affordable, with prices for the U310 and U410 starting from £599.
Also new for CES are the IdeaPad S200 and S206, pitched by Lenovo as affordable thin and light, mini laptops that fill the space between netbooks and full laptops.
Both devices have 11.6in HD widescreen displays, but the S200 is based on Intel's Atom chip, while the S206 fits an unspecified AMD dual-core processor.
Both also have Lenovo's Quick Start instant-on environment, which lets uses quickly connect to the internet and run basic applications without starting Windows. Pricing starts from £299.
Other systems Lenovo will be introducing at CES include new all-in-one desktop systems, including the IdeaCentre B540 and B340 with 23in and 21.5in multi-touch displays, plus the IdeaPad 7 series performance laptops and IdeaPad Z series mainstream laptop lines.
V3 will be reporting live from CES, bringing you news, hands-on reviews and video demos of all the must-see products from the show floor.
