Google has released a new version of its Google+ app for the iPhone, which can run on the iPod Touch and iPad tablet.
Google+ iOS app Version 188.8.131.526 is available free from the iTunes App Store, and has been given "various speed and performance improvements", according to the web firm.
The software has also been updated with further support for the Huddle group texting application, along with aggregated contact notifications for Google's Circles social connections project.
Circles users will be able to customise the main Google+ stream view to show specific streams from individual circles, the firm said.
Meanwhile, Huddle users can start a new text conversation directly from their profile, set permissions for who can start conversations with them, and hide one-on-one Huddles from their list.
Google revealed the Google+ iOS app at the end of July.
The company ran into problems with the social network last month after deleting a large number of user accounts over apparent policy violations. Google has since apologised and is examining ways to improve access.
A recent report by internet monitoring firm Experian Hitwise said that Google+ traffic for the week ending 23 July fell by about three per cent, compared with a huge 283 per cent rise the previous week, and that the amount of time each user spent on the site fell by 10 per cent.
However the figures were dismissed as a blip by an Experian Hitwise spokesman because they do not include some traffic from mobile devices and platforms.
