HP has released the first tools in its IT Performance Suite designed to provide an instant snapshot of network operations for senior IT staff.
The suite includes software and services that give chief information officers (CIOs) an Executive Scorecard dashboard showing key performance indicators (KPIs) from actual and virtual networks.
HP claimed that the system can identify and eliminate problems like bottlenecks much more quickly.
The company has linked 50 KPIs to the system so far, with another 100 pending, and has integrated the Information Technology Infrastructure Library into its data model.
"We did a very low key release of this six months ago, but this is our coming out to the market," Piet Loubser, senior director of product marketing at HP, told V3.co.uk.
"It's a home-grown system, but open to other vendors, which can create additional KPIs."
This is the first time that CIOs can get an accurate overview of the way the entire network operates from an installed base and with cloud services, according to Loubser. More tools will be added to the suite as it develops.
The first release of the Executive Scorecard, the CIO Edition Standard, comes with three modules for financial planning and analysis, project and portfolio management, and an asset manager which covers over 20 KPIs.
HP's strategic advisory services will consult on identifying key KPIs, and the company's solution consulting services can be used to manage installation and setup.
