Troubled online analytical processing applications provider, Comshare, has sold its Arthur merchandise management packages for the retail market to JDA Software for $44 million in cash.
The move is Comshare's first step towards focusing on its financial applications for management planning and control, and it plans to use the money from the sell-off to boost its presence in this sector via acquisition of both products and companies.
JDA is known predominantly for its AS/400 applications, which are sold mainly into the retail space.
