BT is to offer fixed mobile communications in Singapore through its venture with NTT of Japan, Singapore Technologies Telemedia, and Singapore Power. It will begin to deliver services from 1 April 2000.
Fixed mobile services have been hailed as promising operators guaranteed success in the telecomms market, but BT is so far prevented from offering such services in the UK because of its dominant position.
