Lucent is to extend its global grasp to Asia-Pacific with the acquisition of JNA, an Australian telco equipment developer.
For around Aus$114 million (US$70 million) the deal will double Lucent's presence in the Australian market. The market for telco equipment in the region is worth $15 billion.
JNA employs 240 employees and earned revenues of Aus$65 million last year.
