Sun is planning to increase the rate at which it introduces new processors to the market. Around 2000 it will complete its 600MHz Ultrasparc III processor, followed later in the year by the 750MHz version. The Ultrasparc IV will come in around 2001 to 2002 with 1,000MHz and 1,500MHz processors, based on a 0.1 micron production process. This year it is planning 400MHz, 440MHz and 480MHz versions of its Ultrasparc II chip.
