Big screens for the home are only a year away. At this year's Comdex, LG Electronics is showing off massive 60-inch plasma display panels that offer TV quality and can simultaneously receive digital TV and computer signals.
The wall-mounted screen, dubbed the PD-60X1, can be directly linked to audio and video devices in the home, including DVD for a real cinema experience. The screen can display computer-generated graphics and text in high definition, making it a must for serious games players.
The PD-60X1 is scheduled to be available in spring 2001. Pricing has yet to be announced, but it is unlikely to come cheap.
