Sources close to Microsoft have confirmed that the company is currently in discussions over possible restructuring although no final decisions have been made.
Yesterday it was widely reported that the company is considering splitting into four divisions to focus its efforts on the Internet (see Newswire 8 February).
A company insider confirmed that Microsoft had been looking at ways to ?better serve? its customers and that it had been evaluating candidates to take charge of all consumer operations and assist in the changes, one of which is former company executive Brad Silverberg.
According to this information, Microsoft has been talking to Silverberg about this matter since he went on leave.
