The International Standards Organisation (ISO) has granted the Object Management Group (OMG) the right to submit specifications directly to the standards body for ratification to speed up the process. The OMG, like Sun Microsystems earlier this week, has been voted in as a Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) submitter and so can offer its specifications for adoption by ISO's fast track system, which usually takes six months as opposed to the traditional seven years.
