Sequent has set up a global competency centre and deployment manual for the Siebel 99 application suite.
The programmes will form part of Sequent's Contact Advantage call centre package and offer sizing and testing services, as well as configuration guidelines.
The intention is to provide companies with a complete Siebel 99 installation on top of Sequent's NumaCentre hardware platform.
Siebel 99 is run over the Internet and displayed through a Web browser, allowing for "live" business interaction. After an initial configuration, other terminals need only be deployed correctly to run off the suite.
Sequent's competency centre claims to ensure that the design and size of the infrastructure chosen by customers will deliver their required levels of performance, as well as support extreme workloads. It will also test the scalability and integration of the system to the existing setup.
The deployment manual consists of proven best practices along with extensive guidelines covering size, configuration, integration of complementary products, bandwidth, backup, database synchronisation and quality assurance.
