One of the five sex offenders identified by a new police website has handed himself in to the authorities.
Within 24 hours of the site going live Stewart, one of five named offenders, gave himself up.
A CEOP spokesman told vnunet.com that Stewart was in custody and had turned himself in following the publicity around the website launch.
The site received over eight million visitors in its first day of operation and over a million people have logged on since the weekend.
All of the men who were named on the site have served prison sentences but failed to report their whereabouts to the police after being released.
