Stock market pundits have been invited to pit their wits against a chimpanzee in a two week online contest to pick the best performing Internet stocks.
The Beat the Monkey contest has been organised by the US based Internet Stock Review, which created the Monkeydex index in January by persuading Raven, a six year old chimp, to throw darts at a board listing 133 Internet stocks.
Raven’s picks have increased 55 per cent in the last six months and the Monkeydex creators are now looking for 1,000 competitors to test their skills against the primate.
The contest runs from 12 July to 30 July and the winner will receive a computer from Dell.
Raven’s picks, which will not change for the contest duration, include Inktomi, Lycos, Netspeak and Audiohighway.
Contestants can register at www.monkeydex.com.
