In brief: Sun offers ISPs special deals
Sun Microsystems has targeted the service provider market with a discount programme on software packages for ISPs.
Buying one of the recently released Enterprise 250 workgroup servers will trigger the software discounts of up to 60 per cent on Solaris and other products.
Sun already has a significant market in the ISP sector, helping it become the largest Unix server vendor in terms of units shipped. The deal was announced at Sun's ISP Conference and Industry Forum where chief executive Scott McNealy told attendees that Sun was working on more products to help ISPs sell more services.
