Sequent is extending its service range to include selective outsourcing, which it believes is becoming an increasing popular alternative to full outsourcing contracts.
Services customers will be able to outsource to Sequent include network and systems management, disaster recovery services, helpdesks, and environmental site services. Sequent will provide the services through its UK customer services organisation, and through partners.
Julian Freeman, open solutions manager for Sequent, said the new service offering reflects an emerging trend in the market place, as customers become reluctant to lose control of their IT departments.
Freeman admitted it was also important for Sequent to add more strings to its bow. "We're trying to find other areas to grow into," he said.
