Singapore Telecom is set to trial Asia's first service that offers Internet video of the same quality as television. Together with Television Corporation of Singapore, the telco says it will test the system, which runs on 6Mbps Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line technology, in 40 homes from March, with a three-month commercial trial in 300 homes from June. Singapore Telecom provides the network and equipment, while its partner offers the content. Users will be able to download full motion video including films and educational programmes.
