The Norwich and Peterborough Building Society took the plunge into Internet banking yesterday with the launch of its NetMaster banking service. Customers are being offered an exclusive 7.5% interest rate on savings accounts to sign up. The facilities on offer from the new service include viewing an account summary and statement details, paying bills, the ability to cancel or amend standing orders and direct debits, and the ability to transfer funds between N&P accounts. NetMaster will be free for the first six months, but after that personal users will be asked to pay #2.99 per month for the service, and business users will be charged #7.99 per month.
Demonstrations of NetMaster are available at any N&P branch, or at the society's Web site at www.npbs.co.uk.
