Sun has announced Trusted Solaris 2.5.1, a version of its Unix operating system aimed at environments with high minimum security requirements, such as government operations.
The UK Information Technology Security Evaluation Criteria (ITSEC), a government backed scheme for providing users with an independent measurement of a products security level, has evaluated the Solaris 2.5.1 environment to level E3/F-C2 and E3/F-B1.
