Planning Sciences plans to change its name to Gentia Software in the next month or so and is switching its headquarters from Wimbledon in London to Boston in the US, although research and development will stay in Ipswich in the UK.
The online analytical processing software supplier is attempting to change its identity from UK to US company because it believes the US stock market, where it floated, has so far undervalued its stock because it is a foreign organisation. Planning Sciences also feels that the market hit it harder than was necessary, when its results last quarter were lower than expected due to the firm's failure to close several large deals.
