Informix has reshuffled its senior executives and appointed a new head of channel sales, to put greater emphasis on vertical markets and channel partners.
The move follows Informix' public voicing of its dissastisfaction with some of its distributors, for offering poor support to their Vars.
Martin Brauns, who was most recently head of the company?s SAP business unit, is now vice president of worldwide channels and partners, a new position. He will be responsible for relationships with all channel partners, distributors, independent software vendors, OEMs and tools vendors.
Also in the reorganisation, Steve Sommer was promoted from vice president of worldwide marketing to vice president of worldwide industry marketing, targeting sales and marketing efforts in vertical industries such as insurance, healthcare, telecomms and government.
David Cope, who was general manager of Informix? Datablade business unit, is now vice president of worldwide field marketing.
The company also named a new chief financial officer, Alan Henricks, a veteran of Borland, to replace Howard Graham.
