J Sainsbury group chief executive Dino Adriano proved he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Adriano, an accountant by training who has just been promoted in a boardroom reshuffle, starred in the BBC2's 'Back to the Floor' which takes company chiefs back to grass roots to perform basic tasks. On last week's show he could be seen heaving trolleys around the Chichester branch and literally beancounting as he stacked shelves in the store. Perhaps the idea should be emulated at other organisations where top executives, ensconced in smoke-filled rooms, are out of touch with ordinary staff.
