Arrow Electronics is to acquire UK-based electronic components distributor, FES Group, from Premier Farnell, for about $300 million.
FES Group distributes semiconductors, connectors and other components to OEMs and industrial customers in 15 European countries and generates sales of about $500 million a year. US-based Arrow said this complemented its own semiconductor distribution range and strengthened its hand in Europe. Arrow will become a preferred supplier to Premier Farnell's remaining core business, in electronics catalogues.
