Car maker Daewoo has chosen Novell's NetWare and ManageWise to run its network of showrooms, warehouses and UK head office. Daewoo claims to be the first UK car manufacturer to deal directly with customers. The NetWare installation runs almost 40 servers, linking 1,500 workstations.
The workstations will be split between real users and automated kiosks which will offer quotations and specifications on all cars available in the UK, as well as details of the company's history.
