Still planning to be around in the next millennium, Apple Computer has outsourced its Year 2000 systems conversion work to a 15-strong California company, Blackhawk Information Services. Apple insists that Macintosh products will have no problems coping with the date change issue, but needs someone to look at the non-Macintosh manufacturing equipment in its three factories in California, Ireland and Singapore. The factories are running Cobol applications on Tandem hardware.
