Hewlett-Packard has announced a replacement for its best-selling colour inkjet printer, the DeskJet 690C. The new 695C model offers improved print quality and speeds of up to 5ppm in black or 1.7ppm for colour work.
The DeskJet 695C uses almost any type of copier paper, although, for colour work, higher grade paper is advised to obtain the best results from the ColorSmart II element of HP's on-board RealLife Imaging System.
ColorSmart automatically adjusts the colour settings of the printer to ensure that the colour that appears on the screen is the same as appears on paper, according to HP.
Colour fidelity is becoming important as more professional brochures and leaflets with full-colour imagery are produced and as digital photography becomes more widespread.
The DeskJet 695C will be available in February and is expected to be priced at #129.
