Hewlett-Packard (HP) has pulled in NEC to help it improve the 64bit version of its HP/UX Unix operating system, which it is currently under development. NEC is sending a batch of its Unix engineers to work with HP on making the OS more scaleable and robust and to improve its resource management features. HP is expected to sign other similar deals in the future.
