Netscape and BullSoft, the software division of Bull Worldwide Information Systems, last week announced a deal in which BullSoft will integrate Netscape's security and server software with its SecurWare NetWall firewall. The companies plan to market the combined software this year. Netscape and BullSoft said it will be the only firewall available directly from Netscape.
Netscape plans to continue partnering with other firewall vendors. BullSoft offerings include a suite of security software; SecurWare VPN for virtual private networking; SecurWare ID, a smart card-based authentication offering; AccessMaster, which the company calls a global security management application; and SecurWare Cluster, a software clustering package.
