Novell has released the Java software developers' kit (SDK) for its Intranetware product. It was originally made available on the Web at the end of December.
The developers' kit contains Java Virtual Machine as a series of Netware Loadable Modules to allow Java applets to be supported in Intranetware and Netware 4.1x environments. It also incorporates an alpha version of a just-in-time compiler, which speeds up Java applets by optimising compilation to machine code. Java class libraries are supported, with class libraries for Novell Directory Services planned.
