Dell has enlisted the aid of BT to create a new notebook combining telephone and mobile data services out of the box.
Dell will launch the GSM-based wireless notebook to include BT's mobile services in mid-September, priced at #1,649.
It is likely to be the first off-the-shelf laptop to have an integrated GSM card and mobile services. The notebook is aimed at the corporate marketplace and is "indicative of the move towards mobile working", according to Adrian Weeks, Dell's UK managing director.
Dell is also planning to provide BT Internet, BT's Internet access service, on its Dimension desktop range
