The Global Mobile Commerce Forum has demonstrated a range of consumer transactions taking place over a mobile phone - a goal the organisation has been working toward for more than 18 months. A wide variety of companies interested in mobile commerce got together to take part in the demonstration, including BT Cellnet, Barclaycard, Sony, Ericsson, Gemplus, Brokat, and Logica. Applications for mobile commerce shown off by the partners included travel planning and ticket purchase, credit card transactions, and share purchase.
