Interplay Productions claims its upcoming title, developed by the creators of the infamous Lara Croft, will be the ultimate in 3D action-adventure gaming.
Going under the working name Galleon, the game will put you in the role of Rhama, a buccaneer at the helm of the clipper Endeavour and transport you into a world of epic battles, eerie shipwrecks and skeleton warriors.
Developed by Toby Gard and Paul Douglas, the team responsible for the infamous Lara Croft character in Tomb Raider, Galleon uses a a proprietary animation system that will give characters access to an unprecedented array of actions and movements, according to Interplay.
Its developers claim Rhama will be one of the most agile computer game characters ever made, able to run, leap, climb, swim and swing his way across the islands he discovers. Galleon also boasts a completely unique sword-fighting system with incredibly realistic enemies to fight.
Galleon is scheduled to be released during 1999.
