BT is launching BTnet CellStream Gateway service to allow customers using CellStream networks for their data networks to extend user access to the Internet at a range of bandwidths between 64Kbit/s and 34Mbit/s. The CellStream network supports companies that are building a VPN around ATM networks and allows flexibility in setting up permanent virtual circuits (PVC) of any bandwidth up to 155Mbit/s between multiple customer sites. BT has also announced a free bandwidth offer from September until the end of November on its 2Mbps CellStream ATM to encourage customers to try out the service.
