Thirty industry giants will get together next Thursday at the IP Multicast Summit to address the problem of overcrowding on the Internet.
IP Multicast is a technology, recently approved by the Internet Engineering Task Force standards body, that increases efficient bandwidth usage for applications that distribute data to multiple recipients. 3Com, Cisco, IBM, Sun, Intel, MCI, Microsoft, Netscape and Lucent will be among the summit attendees.
