Top US Web design shop Agency.com has merged with Online Magic, one of the UK's leading interactive agencies. The two firms' operations in New York and London will be combined, and more staff will be recruited to fill the London office. Online Magic will retain its name, but will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agency.com. Founded in 1995, Agency.com has produced Web sites for American Express, BA, Hitachi and Texaco. In June 1997 it bought a stake in Online Magic, which has produced sites for Boots the Chemists, BT, The Economist Group, General Motors and Hewlett-Packard.
