Peoplesoft US has merged its Red Pepper acquisition into a newly created manufacturing industry business unit, but does not expect to sell its manufacturing applications in Europe until November.
The new unit will house Peoplesoft?s manufacturing packages and Red Pepper?s real time planning applications and the move will be emulated in Europe when the products become available. Red Pepper Software will remain intact as a product development and service organisation.
Other European vertical markets likely to be singled out for attention over the next year, particularly in the UK and France, include financial services and government.
Howard Gwin, Peoplesoft?s European general manager, said: ?The European market is nine months behind the US, and release 7.0 of Red Pepper, which is the globalised version, won?t be available until November. We?ll go to the market with the manufacturing solutions fully then, although we?ll take on early adopters earlier in the year.?
The aim is to sell the Red Pepper products both as part of a Peoplesoft solution and as an add-on to other third party enterprise resource planning applications such as SAP. The Red Pepper trademark will be retained.
